British Airways 787 First Class is similar to the airline’s popular first-class product found on their 747, 777 and A380 aircraft. The new cabin does, however, feature some new and improved modern touches which passengers will love. Let’s take a look.

The new British Airways 787 First Class cabin is laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration and has a total of just eight suites.

The BA 787 First Class Suite

The suites are semi-enclosed, and all feature direct aisle access. The layout of the eight suites on the 787-9 has been designed to focus on individual privacy while allowing all seats a view of the outside world.

British Airways have focused heavily on ergonomics with the design of its new 787 First Class.  Everything is within easy reach and designed for both leisure and business travelers.

The 787’s windows do not have traditional manual window shades but are instead tinted electronically with a touch of a button. This allows passengers to control the exact amount of light coming in from the outside world.

Each suite has a mixture of lighting options including overhead lights, a reading light, mood lighting and even a side lamp.  These are all controlled by your personal remote and side console.

Although the window seats obviously have the best views, the middle seats are great for couples traveling together.  These suites are separated by a partition which can be lowered at a touch of a button, enabling two suites to be turned into one larger one.

To the side of each seat is a handy side table. A larger pull-out tray table is available at a touch of a button.

Each BA 787 First Class seat can be converted into a lay-flat bed. As part of the turndown service, your first class crew will make up your bed with a luxurious mattress overlay, a soft duvet, and pillows.

British Airways 787 First Class In-Flight Entertainment

Each First Class suite comes complete with a fifteen-inch high definition smart screen which hosts British Airways in-flight entertainment system.  Passengers can also play their own content via a USB connection located to the side of the seat. Noise cancelling headphones are also provided.

All entertainment can be controlled by the touchscreen remote next to each seat. The remote’s screen can also display a moving map to help you keep track of the flights progress.

There is plenty of storage for passengers travelling in BA 787 first-class. Next to the entry of each suite is a personal coat closet to ensure your garments remain crease-free. To the side of the seat is a small cupboard fitted with a personal mirror.  Next to the armrest and footrest are additional storage compartments.
